The History of photography
|
-Photography has no certain inventor as it was a collaboration of many different inventions that date from 150 to 1500 years ago during the (fourth century by the Chinese).
-Throughout history we have used many different methods of taking pictures such as the Camera Obscura. -Other methods have been abounded due to the dangers. Daguerreotype was one of those as it consisted of a highly toxic mercury reaction to get the photo. -Around 1830-1840 Talbotype/Calotypewas invented. It was a more efficient and safe way of creating and copying the photos witch reduced the cost immensely. -In 1851 Frederick Scott Archer created one f the most efficient ways yet. With the Collodian wet-plate process you were able to take a safe photo that was clear and able to copy easily and keep consistency of the colour. -Photography in the 1900's impacted a lot of people as around this time people were starting to use it for more than just pictures and art and more for sending a message to the world from pictures of war to children working in factories. -In 1879 Eadweard Muybridge invented the Zoopraxiscope. This machine took frame by frame photo's to help see a fast moving image slower step by step (a hours running full gallop). -In 1880 they replaced the thick glass sheets use in the process with flexible film witch is still used to this day. -In 1890 George Eastman created the first cheap Kodak camera that was easy for the public to get there hands on (wasn't only for the wealthy). -The first coloured pictures were introduced in 1907. -In 1925 Leica helps photography advance by creating and easier to work with miniature 35mm film (mini camera). -In 1935 Kodak became known everywhere for improving quality while decreasing price. -To this day some of the best cameras we have are single lens reflex."SLR" was introduced in 1937 in the US. -Not much after SLR was invented, automatic exposure was to. -In 1939 the first flash camera appeared to the public. -In 1947 the Poloroid camera was introduced as the competition in the industry kept rapidly increasing. -In 1954 the first high speed film became available to the public. -The development of the zoom lens didn't occur until 1959. -The first profession automatic exposure camera was invented in 1966 by Konica. -In 1972 Poloroid stepped up the game by creating and automatic camera with colour. -In 1987 Canon invented the first ever commercial still video system. -For Kodak 1991 may be one of the most important years of there whole career as that year they released the first digital camera and photo CD system. |
